Known affectionately as "Big Mike," Michael Saviello embodies the beautiful intersection of everyday craft and fine art. For nearly 40 years, he managed the iconic Astor Place Hairstylists in New York's East Village, where he began his remarkable journey into painting during his lunch breaks.
The Lady Godiva Connection
In a special collaboration that bridges art and hair artistry, BELLIBONE's own Vania DeSanctis served as the muse for Saviello's interpretation of the legendary Lady Godiva painting. This unique connection has blossomed into an extraordinary exhibition, where we now proudly showcase several of Big Mike's original pieces for a limited time. The Lady Godiva reimagining stands as a testament to the timeless connection between hair artistry and classical art, making its temporary home in our salon particularly meaningful.
